Time flies, and there is no better example of that than the Milestone release schedule. Fresh from Ride 4 in October, MXGP in December, then next-gen versions of each in January and February respectively, we now have confirmation that Monster Energy AMA Supercross 4 FIM World Championship – The Official Video Game will release on 3rd March 2021 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, PC and Google Stadia. Phew!
As you can probably tell, this is the fourth instalment in the Monster Energy Supercross series, a yearly officially licenced sports franchise that replicates the real-world AMA Supercross championship. Similar in some ways to the MXGP series in so much as there are off-road motorcycles competing in races, but differentiated because this is arena-based and across the United States.
If you want to get a flavour for this form of motorsport, here are some short race-highlights.
Frenetic stuff.
Releasing a year after Supercross 3, the latest game promises to include an updated roster of riders, bikes and liveries alongside the following additions:
- Salt Lake City races
- Revised Career mode with a new skill tree and rivalries
- New open-world compound area
- Four-player co-op
- Improved track editor with new modules
- 60fps and dynamic 4K resolution on PS5 and Xbox Series X
You can watch the announcement trailer below and let us know in the comments if you are looking forward to this latest Supercross game. As ever, we’ll provide you with the latest updates and a review upon release.
