A new Le Mans Ultimate teaser dropped today, with Motorsport Games releasing audio of two new cars coming to the sim.
The team behind the official game of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) has been working on its third DLC pack recently, which is set to add one track and three LMGT3 cars.
The teaser video is captioned with the words: “LMGT3. Coming soon….” referencing the much-anticipated addition of the new LMGT3 sportscar class in WEC, replacing the outgoing GTE category for 2024.
The video clearly showcases the onboard sounds of both the BMW M4 GT3 and Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R, with the smooth V6 howl of the BMW and the distinctive flat-plane crank V8 of the ‘Vette clearly audible (it’s similar to the McLaren 720S GT3 Evo, but each has their aural contrasts).
MSG has previously intimated that two of the game’s nine prospective LMGT3 cars would arrive as free downloads: could these perhaps be the BMW and Corvette? At the very least, this strategy allows all LMU players to participate in online races with the new car class (the 2023 GTE cars do not race alongside the 2024 LMGT3 cars in real-world WEC races, so don’t expect this to change in LMU).
Le Mans Ultimate: upcoming track DLC
In terms of tracks, only two circuits have yet to be added to LMU’s in-game line-up; the Autódromo José Carlos Pace (Interlagos) and the Losail International Circuit (Qatar). It is currently unknown which circuit will appear alongside the three LMGT3s in LMU’s next DLC pack, which is expected in December 2024.
Once all four of LMU’s DLC packs have been released, both the 2023 and 2024 WEC seasons’ cars and tracks will be complete, with no concrete DLC release plans in place for the Early Access sim beyond Q1 2025.
