Latest Need for Speed Unbound gameplay trailer explores Takeover Events

A new trailer for Need for Speed Unbound dropped on Tuesday (8th November) and in it, there’s a new look at the upcoming game’s Takeover Events mode.

Headlined by the inclusion of A$AP Rocky, Takeover Events, which is defined by the game makers as a precision driving mode, will be the area where players can expand their street racing empire around the city of Lakeshore.

Takeover Events feature skill and style based driving modes. Players will need to drift, smash, and drive like they stole it around various obstacles. By racking up more points in the contest through combinations of tricks, players can impress A$AP Rocky and move closer to qualifying for The Grand.

There’s not much besides some cool visuals and some of the points earning tricks named in the video. Earn points with drift skills, smash skills, hitting checkpoints, boosting, getting airtime, all of which can multiply with a combo bonus.

In the game, players will be able to practice these skills during the daytime, and that will be put to use in the contests at night. It looks as though A$AP Rocky himself will be guiding players through these Takeover Events, and judging as well.

Need for Speed Unbound will be available on 2nd December 2022 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via the EA app, Origin, Steam and the Epic Game Store. Standard Edition goes for $69.99 and the Palace Edition will be $79.99.
