2020 was a pretty busy year for the pride of Somalia and 2021 doesn’t look like its going to be any quieter for the man affectionately known as “Jimmer”.

The popular YouTube star will be joining forces with automotive manufacturer Praga to track to a number of very real circuits this year. Jimmy will be joining Praga’s “Britcar Guest Driver Programme” which will have five factory cars amongst a ten car grid. He’ll be sharing the car with Jay Morton (also known as “Mr JWW”) and Charlie Martin

The car that you’ll see Jimmy driving is the Praga R1. It’s an all-carbon car with 365bhp and weighing just 634kg – an insane power-to-weight ratio for a newbie to handle. But, with all of that virtual practice over the years, we have no doubt that Broadbent will be up to the task.

I’m super excited to be involved with Praga and their guest driver program. The new R1 looks like an absolute weapon! I can’t wait to get behind the wheel and start learning what the car is all about. It will be a big challenge, but the support Praga are providing is incredible and I am really looking forward to getting out on track in the R1 – Jimmy Broadbent

Whilst the Praga R1 isn’t officially in any racing games or sims that we know of, if you’re a player of Assetto Corsa on PC, PS4 or Xbox One, you will be able to find a version of the car to try out yourself.

So when can you watch Shed Sheeran take on some irl physics? Well, the first Britcar race of the 2021 season is due to be the 27th March (COVID-19 permitting). It’s not yet known if there’ll be any live streaming of the event but there’s a pretty strong chance there will be. Regardless, Jimmy won’t miss the opportunity to record his experience in a vlog and has been given full permission by Praga to do so. That will definitely be something to look forward to!

Happy for Jimmy? Jealous? We can’t wait to see what he can do.
