JDM: Japanese Drift Master has received a major update today (29th September), adding the Nissan GT-R R35, new story campaign missions, new tracks and new customisation options.
Headlining the latest patch (update 1.7.0) is the arrival of the Nissan GT-R R35 EBA, expanding JDM’s car roster. The final GT-R variant before its discontinuation this year, the Japanese sports car generates 566 horsepower from a 3.8-litre, twin-turbo engine.

The free update also includes six bodykits for the R35, along with a new option to modify wheels and rims, allowing for further customisation.
With the update, front and rear tyres can be customised separately, with options to change the profile between low, medium and high, change the width and adjust the spacers. Rim diameters, widths and lips can also be adjusted.

In addition, the update also introduces nine story campaign events with 11 races. These focus on Naoto Date, one of JDM’s main rival characters, with a story arc that is “pivotal for the main campaign” according to Gaming Factory.
There are also two new tracks to explore in the open world and Challenge Mode: a converted sports arena known as Hakome Stadium and Takekaze Tōge, located at the bottom of the volcano within a bamboo forest.
Elsewhere, the updates brings performance enhancements, faster loading times and physics improvements for AWD and FWD cars.
Made in USA DLC introduce Western cars to JDM: Japanese Drift Master
Looking ahead, JDM: Japanese Drift Master is set to receive its first paid DLC. Launching in November and priced at $5,99, the Made in USA will add six American-themed cars in response to community requests for Western vehicles.
Since it launched, JDM: Japanese Drift Master has focused solely on Japanese vehicles, with a mix of real-world and unlicensed lookalikes.

Although they are unlicensed, the two cars featured in the artwork are based on the original Ford Mustang and the current-generation Dodge Challenger SRT. The four remaining cars are shown in the background.
On the far left, the car is difficult to identify, but is reminisant of a 1960s Plymouth. Next to it, the remaining cars appear to be a second-generation Dodge Viper, Ford GT and Shelby Cobra.
