The switch from ‘Gen 8’ to ‘Gen 9’ consoles is in full swing, as Forza Horizon 5 is yet another game that will not be released for the PlayStation 4.
When it is released on the 25th and 29th of April 2025, Horizon 5 will mark the first Forza game ever to be released on Sony’s PlayStation consoles.

Yet, despite it being released on both Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S back in 2021 during the initial release, when it makes its way to Sony consoles, Microsoft is only releasing the open-world driving game on the newer PlayStation 5.
For PS5 players, three versions plus all prior DLC will be available, alongside cross-platform leaderboards and multiplayer with PC and Xbox. But, PS4 players will not be receiving a version.
Horizon 5 joins the likes of EA SPORTS WRC, EA SPORTS F1 25, Need for Speed Unbound and Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown in a growing number of current-gen-only console driving games.
