iRacing‘s 2023 Season 4 update and purchasable DLC list was a biggie. In fact, one of the most significant updates in recent memory, with new circuits, updated circuits, two IMSA GTPs, a fresh GT3 and more. But also, and this is key, changes to how tyres interacted with off-track surfaces such as grass and gravel.

It means that the infamous post-race jump at Mount Panorama is no longer possible, but on the plus side, surfaces other than asphalt now behave in a much more realistic fashion, with gravel now noticeably slowing cars down. This has been tweaked even further with the deployment of Patch 1.
Also updated is the rate at which the Porsche 963 GTP consumes fuel, which in turn re-balances IMSA’s top class. We have a comparison, back-to-back, with all four of these prototypes, too.
As is the norm, all of the latest content has received small tweaks based on community feedback. This also includes further distances viewable via the Ferrari 296 GT3’s mirrors, rear wings no longer appearing to detach at distance for the Super Formula and a revised track marshal shed at Circuit de Lédenon.
