Horizon Chase’s Golden Japan DLC adds an 'Initial D' theme, new tracks

A new downloadable content pack is now available for mobile racer Horizon Chase – and it has a Japanese theme.

The Golden Japan pack arrives in time for the nation’s Golden Week national holiday celebration and features Japanese architecture and colourful gardens.

Nine new tracks are included, made up of three in Tokyo, three in Iya Valley, two in Kyoto and one in Sapporo. Playing through and beating your rivals across the new Japanese tracks will unlock four new and themed car skins.

There’s also a brand new vehicle too, the Déjà Vu. An unlicenced and fictional vehicle, it would be remiss to mention that it bears more than a passing resemblance to the Toyota Sprinter Trueno AE86 GT-APEX Shuichi Shigeno – a car built to order for the author of the Initial D comic series.

The anime version of those comics’ theme tune is also called… Déjà Vu, huzzah!

This new content pack follows the China Sprint set released in January 2022. There’s no word yet on if either of the Chinese or Japanese-themed packs will be coming to the Horizon Chase Turbo PC and console game.

Horizon Chase’s Golden Japan DLC is available today (27th April 2022) iOS, Huawei and Android mobile devices for £0.79/$0.99/€0.99.
