The driver ratings have been updated in the F1 2021 game for one last time, and it’s Sir Lewis Hamilton that tops the overall stats ahead of newly crowned world champion Max Verstappen.
Based on real-world Formula 1 season performance, Experience, Racecraft, Awareness and Pace are accounted for before calculating an overall score out of 100. This then affects how the game-controlled drivers perform on track and within the My Team managerial mode.
This update now includes the Saudi Arabian and Abu Dhabi Grand Prix – the final two races of the season.
The headline stat is that overall, Hamilton sits on 94/100, while Verstappen has a 93/100 score. Hamilton edges ahead for the most part thanks to a higher ‘Experience’ figure.
Other noticeable stats include increases for Pierre Gasly and Mick Schumacher, thanks to a fifth-place finish for the former and a 14th-place result for the latter in the last race of the year.
Perhaps the strangest element of the ratings is that despite his heroic helping hand, by dicing with Lewis hamilton during the middle portion of the Abu Dhabi race, Sergio Perez’s ‘Racecraft’ score fell by two points when compared to the December rankings.
