Hamilton heads Verstappen in F1 2021 game ratings ahead of Abu Dhabi GP

As Max Verstappen and Sir Lewis Hamilton head into the season finale, and championship-deciding, Abu Dhabi Grand Prix level on points, the driver ratings with the F1 2021 game have been updated.

These apply within the My Team managerial mode and alter rival on-track performance plus driver market decisions. Based on real-world 2021 season performance, Experience, Racecraft, Awareness and Pace are accounted for before calculating an overall score out of 100.

One element to clarify is that these ratings take into account the season up to and including the Qatar Grand Prix, so excluding the controversial Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

The big movers and shakers are Sergio Perez, who put on a fine display of overtaking in Qatar and a podium at his home Grand Prix. Both Ferrari drivers, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz Jr., have leapt upwards too after a spate of solid drivers to place the Maranello manufacturer third in the Contructors’ standings.

Lance Stroll’s subdued end to the season and Valtteri Bottas’ mixed bag of performances see them slip down the rankings across the board.

As for the title contenders, Hamilton remains ahead with a one-point difference over Verstappen. Both witnessed improvements to their contributing scores.
