The Gran Turismo World Series competition is returning for a seventh season and will make a debut visit to the United Arab Emirates.
Following the addition of the Yas Marina Circuit to Gran Turismo 7 in December’s free Spec III update, Abu Dhabi will host the opening round of the 2026 calendar on 28th March.

In the quest to find the world’s best virtual racer, the Gran Turismo World Series sees open in-game qualifying, followed by a calendar of in-person events and a title-decided World Final for the Manufacturers Cup and the Nations Cup.
This news was announced during the 2025 World Finals in Fukuoka, Japan.
His Excellency, Saeed Ali Obaid Al Fazari, was present at this year’s finale – the Executive Director, Strategy Affairs Sector at the Department of Culture and Tourism, Abu Dhabi.
“I am dleighted to share that Abu Dhabi will host the opening event of the Gran Turismo World Series 2026,” he said, also expelling the vitues of the Abu Dhabi Gaming initiative.
“Events like this go beyond competition, they are catalysts for growth… laying the foundation of global careers.”

Not only will next season witness a new host nation, but an earlier start. The current edition’s first in-person event was in London on 7th June 2025, and consequently, the in-game qualification is expected to begin in January.
