Behold, Gran Turismo 7‘s latest update for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 is now available and there are three shiny new cars, several new single-player races and a set of minor tweaks. But, no new track, sadly or any stand-out refinements. Here’s everything you need to know about version 1.38.
Three new cars
As teased, and then confirmed, we can now see which dealerships the three new cars fall under and for how much they retail.
- Garage RCR Civic – 589.79 PP – 300,000 Credits
- Honda Civic Type R (FL5) ’22 – 529.55 PP – 50,000 Credits
- MAZDA3 Gr.4 – 635.09 PP – 350,000 Credits
The road-going Civic Type R is the FL5 generation, which was launched earlier this year and makes its video game debut within Gran Turismo 7. The other Civic, meanwhile, is a heavily modified 90s special which won the now defunct Gran Turismo award at the SEMA tuning show, now completing that set.
Finally, there’s the Gr.4 Mazda, which at last marks a new addition to the racing classes used within Sport Mode. Handy, then, that there’s a Gr.4 race in this week’s playlist. Hopefully, then, there’s a Gr.4 ranked race on next week’s playlist to utilise it. Much like the car that runs in the ST-Q class of the Japanese Super Taikyu Series, this is running on, surprisingly, biodiesel and is front-wheel drive.
Recent Toyotas now readily available
The snarling Toyota GR Corolla hot hatch and the incongruous Toyota Himedic ambulance are now available whenever you fancy via the Brand Central. Previously, the Corolla was only available if you registered for an esports race and the ambulance if you watched a separate esports race via the game.
Of note, the ambulance is completely free.
- Toyota GR Corolla MORIZO Edition ’22 – 513.62 PP – 71,500 Credits
- Toyota Ambulance Himedic ’21 – 243.31 PP – FREE
To be clear, these are Café Menu Books where you complete driving challenges, but the car collection Extra Menus, where owning three set cars unlocks a bonus.

Honda Racing eMS 2023 Lap Time Challenges
Two new Lap Time Challenges for a Honda esports competition have been added to the Sport Mode. pertaining to the Honda Racing eMS 2023 competition.
This is a leaderboard time trial to see who’s the quickest driver in the new Civic Type R, but even if you’re not interested in the esports aspect, you can enter the time trail leaderboard and there are up to two million in-game credits up for grabs in each of the two challenges. Well worth a punt.
Garage RCR Civic Lap Time Challenge
A further third new Honda-themed online time trial has been added, with once again up to two million credits up for grabs if you’re near the top of the standing, or even half a million for setting a mediocre time. Give it a go, reap the rewards in 13 days time.
Five new Porsche engine swaps
The ability to pay for an engine swap with GT Auto continues to be a major benefit, and now, five additional cars are available for heart surgery.

Fresh Mazda Spirit Racing liveries
You can create your own designs within Gran Turismo 7, but if you’re a bit lazy, then the following three Mazdas now have some additional paint schemes to select when purchasing from new at the Brand Central. The white design ties in with a recent Mazda Spirit Racing event in Japan.
- Mazda RX-VISION GT3 CONCEPT
- Mazda Atenza Gr.4
- Mazda Roadster NR-A (ND) ’22
The new-to-the-game Mazda 3 Gr.4 is also available with the same aesthetic.
Extra Nissan-themed scapes
If you enjoy taking pictures of static cars, and in particular, Nissans, then visit Brand Central, Nissan and additional Japanese-manufacturer-related scapes have now been added. You can only place a Nissan in the scene, somewhat understandably.
Three World Circuits events
Three more single-player races have been added to the World Circuits area, here are the details:
- Grand Valley – Highway 1 – Race of Turbo Sportscars – Five laps, turbo road car, 700 PP – Maximum reward 90,000 credits

- Mount Panorama – World Touring Car 700 – Seven laps, 700 PP or less, Racing tyres, 10x fuel usage, 15x tyre wear – Maximum reward 165,000 credits
Small tweaks
In addition to everything mentioned above, there’s a museum entry for Fiat, car designers Fabio Filippini, Ed Welburn, Hideo Kodama and Freeman Thomas have extra lines in the Café, brand logos for Aim, Checkerd Sports and Hondata are now in the livery editor and prices of cars within the Legend Cars dealership have been updated thanks to Hagerty.
