The regular pattern for a Gran Turismo 7 update has been broken.
Today should have been the day. The last Thursday of the month, with notable exceptions, is traditionally when new content arrives via a patch for Sony’s racing game. This would have followed a shadowed teaser image or video clip a few days prior shared to series producer Kazunori Yamauchi’s X feed.
However, this is not the case for ‘Patch 1.49’.
Instead, it will be announced during the upcoming Gran Turismo World Series event – held in Montreal, Canada, where the world’s best GT7 drivers compete in the opening round of the Nations Cup and Manufacturers Cup events.
The competition will be live-streamed on the title’s YouTube channel. In-game right now, you can predict the winners, providing the chance to win credits, and there will be a viewer campaign to unlock roulette tickets.
It takes place on 6th July, with both championships being held unconventionally on the same day. It is during this broadcast details of the next update will be announced.
While an exact release date is still unknown, the next addition to Gran Turismo 7 is scheduled for July, skipping June entirely.
The broadcast begins with the Manufacturers Cup, with qualifying and a 30-lap race around Interlagos at 21:00 (UTC), while the Nations Cup begins at 23:30 (UTC) with qualifying, a sprint and a main race. Somewhere within these streams will be the update announcement.
