Following Gran Turismo 7‘s The Game Awards gong last year, Polyphony Digital’s racing game has collected another award – Racing Game of the Year.

The D.I.C.E. Award was distributed by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences to the car-collecting driving title’s Producer, Kazunori Yamauchi.

The Design Innovate Communicate Entertain industry event has been held since 1998, and this year the 26th overall Game of the Year was awarded to FromSoftware’s Elden Ring. The action-role-playing release and God of War Ragnarök swept up the most accolades.

Gran Turismo 7 launched in March 2022 to critical acclaim, before receiving criticism for its micro-transactions and unstable online lobbies. Since then, changes to the economy, more single-player events, GT Sophy and PSVR2 support have seen it rise to prominence once again.

In perhaps a rather less prestigious award, Traxion.GG readers also voted it the best racing game to be released last year.
