The Game Awards are over for another year, and among the world premieres, Hideo Kojima appearances and musical performances, Gran Turismo 7 picked up a prize.

Polyphony Digital’s opus to car collecting won the Best Sports/Racing laurel, beating EA SPORTS F1 22, NBA 2K23, OlliOlli World and FIFA 23.

A mix of public and panel votes determined the victor, although this award was not treated to an on-stage reveal or acceptance speech.

It follows Forza Horizon 5, which was awarded the same category last year.

The Sony-exclusive driving game was also nominated for Best Audio Design, but that was picked up by God of War Ragnarök. The overall Game of the Year was FromSoftware’s role-playing game Elden Ring.
