Gran Turismo 7 Spec III set for Fiat Panda and Ferrari 296 GTB

The anticipated social media teaser image has been shared, and we now think we know the Gran Turismo 7 Spec III car lineup.

The Ferrari 296 GTB and original Fiat Panda are set to join Gran Turismo 7 via the Spec III update, expected to land on Thursday, 4th December 2025.

This affirmation follows a teaser image by Series Producer Kazunori Yamauchi on social media, teasing an eight-car lineup under cloaks, and the following caption:

“The GT7 Spec III update is coming next week.”

It had been known from the initial unveiling in September that eight cars were part of this significant free game update – although only four were confirmed at the time. Then, at the Gran Turismo World Series event in Los Angeles, two more were announced.

That left the final two, which, based on this teaser image, we think are…

The GT3 race car version of this electrified supercar is the poster child for Spec III, but now we think the road-going companion is also part of the update.

The plug-in hybrid mid-engine Prancing Horse has 830 bhp for 0-60 mph in a scant 2.4 seconds.

If you look at the teaser image, the way the headlight profile looks to incorporate an air intake, much like the GT3 machine sat to its right, is a giveaway. So too is the pronounced vent further down its flanks, just ahead of a building rear wheel arch.

Fiat Panda

The far right of the teaser image is the first-generation Fiat Panda, based on the boxy shape and the slight tapering of the tailgate.

This is a legendary small car for two reasons. Firstly, in the real world, between 1980 and 2003, over 4.4 million were produced. Secondly, in Gran Turismo 4, the incongruity of a tuned Panda created many a fun race.

When garlanded Italian car design Giorgetto Giugiaro (who co-designed the Panda with Aldo Mantovani) visited Gran Turismo 7 developer Polyphony Digital’s office in May, this was spotted as in development on a computer screen.

What else to expect in Gran Turismo 7 Spec III

Alongside these two cars (296 GTB and Panda), there will be six further cars, plus two tracks:

  • Yas Marina Circuit
  • Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve

There will be several quality-of-life changes to the game, including an update to car purchase invites, mixed-up weekly challenges and a raised collector level. A data logger and “improvements to online races” are also expected.

Alongside the free update will be an optional paid DLC Power Pack, which will offer ~50 single-player events against GT Sophy 3.0, some up to 24 hours in length.

Gran Turismo 7 Spec III car list Every car confirmed so far

“It is really exciting to see GT Sophy featured in this new downloadable content for Gran Turismo 7,” said Kaushik Subramanian, Senior Staff Research Scientist at Sony AI.

“Since we started this project over four years ago, our goal has always been to find ways to enhance the game-playing experience for players, allowing them to test their creativity in races and discover new ways to play.

“We look forward to sharing more exciting developments for GT Sophy as we continue to partner with Polyphony Digital and Sony Interactive Entertainment.”
