Golden Lap launches 26th September with mod support

Racing management game fans will have a new option in just a few weeks, as the 2D title Golden Lap will soon be released.

Available for PC via Steam, the game was the brainchild of Absolute Drift and Art of Rally steward Funselektor. Development has been in collaboration, thai time, with Italian outfit Strelka Games.

Golden Lap crash

You will take the reigns of a 1970s single-seater team principle, hiring drivers and overseeing its race strategy. This includes pitstops, fuel levels and tyres. Looking after two drivers, car upgrades, dynamic weather and crashes are all elements that are set to spring a surprise.

As this is the ‘golden area’ of motorsport, you will visit many fictional tracks that may, or may not, look slightly familiar.

Alongside the unlicenced content, the game will support community-created mods through the Steam Workshop. Team names, driver names, crew members and sponsors can all be tweaked – or downloaded thanks to other players.

Golden Lap, the minimalist racing management game, will be available on 26th September 2024. Pricing is yet to be confirmed.
