Further Germany updates previewed in Euro Truck Simulator 2

The lengthy process of reworking Germany within the popular PC trucking title is continuing, with recent progress reports on several areas.

Euro Truck Simulator 2 developer SCS Software is on a mission to make sure its central location of Germany is as representative as possible.

Inorgural reworkings of the nation home to more than 84 million people landed in 2018, and since then the Czechia-based studio has been chipping away.

Four updated German cities were released last year, and since then a steady stream of work-in-progress previews have been published.

The most recent being the cities of Osnabrück and Magdeburg.

Once the work is complete on the former, in the northwestern part of the nation, the historic centre of the city will be driveable for the very first time. The creators also claim that local businesses have been updated to better reflect the real world, with honey factories and scrapyards referenced.

The latter meanwhile has seen its industrial areas be the main focus of the updates – with a windmill factory and a food mill now part of the landscape plus revised motorway exits to accommodate those hauling wind turbines.

These follow a complete rebuild of Kassel, previewed earlier this month, with the museum, gallery and theatre all part of the changes. These will sit alongside a re-mapped road network.
