Full rundown: Forza Horizon 5’s December Festival Playlist, Horizon Holidays

It’s the holiday season, and Forza Horizon 5‘s 15th festival playlist is getting in the Christmas spirit with Horizon Holidays set to launch next Thursday, 8th December.

Many holiday-themed activities, such as Secret Santa, Horizon Wonderland and all of the holiday-themed clothing items and add-ons are returning from last year.

As usual, the four seasons of the Horizon Festival were unveiled during an episode of Forza Let’s ¡GO! which gave fans an idea of what to expect in rewards and activities to finish off 2022 in style.

FORZA HORIZON 5, HORIZON HOLIDAYS, SERIES REWARD

A total of 240 PTS are available among the four seasons, each of which is set at a solid 60 PTS. By earning a total of 80 PTS, the ‘rare’ #22 Extreme E can be yours. Double that at 160 PTS over the full festival and you can unlock an ‘epic’ Ferrari Cali T.

Secret Santa is also in effect during this festival. By participating, two ‘legendary’ unlocks will be shared globally with all Horizon 5 players, the latter reward unknown at this time, but it will be new to Forza.

There won’t be any new Horizon Story modes to complete this month, but there are Monthly Events to complete which will be worth 8 PTS in total to be utilized in each week. They include a Rivals and an EV event.

FORZA HORIZON 5, HORIZON HOLIDAYS, SUMMER

First up is the Summer Wet Season with 60 PTS on the table to earn. At 20 PTS, a ‘rare’ AMC Javelin is earned. When you get to 40 PTS, the ‘epic’ BMW E92 M3 GTS is added to your collection.

The #FORZATHON Weekly Challenge will require the use of a 1957 BMW Isetta 300 Export to earn the 5 PTS and the 80 FORZATHON credits.

In the Summer, completing The Trial (Make it Rein) for Hall of Famers unlocks a ‘rare’ 1991 BMW M3.

The weekly EventLab and the PR Stunts will unlock a trio of Super Wheelspins. For some new cars, however, the Seasonal Championships are where it’s at. There, players can earn an ‘epic’ Jaguar F-Type, a ‘rare’ 2013 Audi RS 4 and a ‘rare’ TVR Griffith.

There will be a Summer Treasure Hunt – Driving Season. The clue reads to Drive home for the Holidays in a famously green manufacturer… even I know that’s got to be referring to Aston Martin.

The #HIDEANDSEEK Photo Challenge wants players to take a picture of a Snowman at the Casa Bella house in Mulegé. You’ll unlock the Sleigh Bells car horn in return.

Completing 3 Clean Start skills in Horizon Open will unlock an ‘epic’ Holiday Sweater as well.

FORZA HORIZON 5, HORIZON HOLIDAYS, AUTUMN

Week two is Autumn, the Storm Season which begins 15th December. Again with 60 PTS on the board, earning 20 of them will unlock a ‘rare’ Plymouth Fury. Double up and you’ll find yourself owning a ‘rare’ Dodge Super Bee.

As for the #FORZATHON Weekly Challenge, you’ll need the assistance of a 2015 Audi S1 to complete the tasks at hand.

This week’s The Trial (Saving The Pennies) unlocks a ‘rare’ BMW 1M for players in the Hall of Fame. More PR Stunts, more Super Wheelspins as well.

Autumn contains a couple of ‘common’ cars as rewards this time, with the Jaguar XE-S and Lotus Elise for two of the three Seasonal Championships. The other, however, is a ‘rare’ Mercedes-Benz SLK for the Extra Special championship.

There won’t be a Treasure Hunt in Autumn, but the #HIDEANDSEEK Photo Challenge continues with that pesky Snowman hiding over at the Lugar Tranquilo house.

Also, don’t forget that Hot Wheels Expansion owners can also get some extra rewards. This month’s Hot Wheels Seasonal Championship offers an ‘epic’ Porsche 718 GTS.

FORZA HORIZON 5, HORIZON HOLIDAYS, WINTER

The third week of the Horizon Holidays Festival is the Winter Dry Season, and as sure as anything, there are 60 PTS to earn again here. At 20 PTS, the ‘rare’ Cadillac Limo is unlocked. At 40 PTS, players can get a ‘legendary’ Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR.

This week’s #FORZATHON Weekly Challenge will need you to own a 2017 VUHL OSRR. I hope you like virtual wind in your virtual face.

The Trail in Winter only offers up a ‘common’ reward for completing ‘Santamental Feelings’ – a Holden Monaro. Song Rewards return with completing the Winter EventLab.

Some Super Wheelspins for the PR Stunts, as usual, and another ‘common’ car reward for the Candlelight Parade Seasonal Championship – that’ll be a 2019 BMW Z4.

The other two Seasonal Championships offer up a pair of ‘rare’ cars – the Exocet Off-Road and the Volkswagen Class 5 Bug.

You’ll once again be looking out for the Snowman in the #HIDEANDSEEK Photo Challenge – this time he’s at the Buenas Vistas house in Cabo San Lucas.

Other challenges in Winter include The Eliminator – yielding a ‘legendary’ Gingerbread outfit, and a Collectibles challenge – Let It Snow – when smashing Snowmen will unlock a ‘legendary’ Snowman outfit.

FORZA HORIZON 5, HORIZON HOLIDAYS, SPRING

In the Spring Hot Season, the final week of the Festival kicks off on the 29th of December and takes us into the new year 2023. 60 more PTS are up for grabs. Earning 20 of them unlocks a ‘rare’ AMC Rebel and earning 40 unlocks an ‘epic’ Porsche 911C2 GW.

As for the #FORZATHON Weekly Challenge, “flex those muscles” with a 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon to complete it all.

It’s a common car cluster in the Season Events this time. The Trial (Holiday Rush) offers up the Audi TTS, while three of the Seasonal Championships will yield commonalties such as the 2022 Corvette, the Cadillac ATS-V and the Jaguar F-Pace S.

There is one ‘rare’ car to find here – it’s the 2008 BMW Z4 – and it comes by playing the Seasonal Playground Games.

One last #HIDEANDSEEK Photo Challenge – This Snowman is hiding at the Buena Esperanza house.

FORZA HORIZON 5 UPDATES

The new festival will bring some updates as well to the title. While a full list isn’t out quite yet, here at the bullet points found on the official Forza site for the most important updates.

  • We have introduced support for Japanese and Traditional Chinese VO. You can switch to any of the available VO pre-sets under “Language Select” in the Settings menu.
  • An EventLab build point has been added to the Horizon Stadium.
  • Accolades tasking players to use Vinyls would previously not be unlocked as usage would not increment your progress. This has now been fixed.
  • The Tuning Setup and Livery applied to a car before the creation of a Super7 event will now be reflected in the published Challenge Card as intended.
  • Any tuning adjustments made to your selected car in Donut Media Chapter 2 now persists onto later chapters.
  • Previously the stat tracking for areas discovered would increase beyond the total number of findable areas in the game. This has been fixed.
  • We’ve fixed the issue which caused liveries to be misaligned when a widebody kit is applied to the 1992 Honda NSX-R.
  • Players can now paint the roof of the 2010 Forsberg Racing Toyota Gumout 2JZ Camry Stock Car.
