Frontier: F1 Manager is a yearly release game series

While it’s pertinently obvious, thanks to the title of the game being F1 Manager 2022 and not just ‘F1 Manager’, it’s always best to seek clarification.

Just for the avoidance of doubt, F1 Manager 2022 is the first release from an “annual F1 management game franchise.”

That’s what a financial report for the publically traded Frontier Developments labelled it back in January of this year.

“The F1 Manager franchise is an annually releasing series,” explained Game Director at Frontier, Andrew Fletcher to Traxion.GG recently.

“For us, it’s definitely the start of a new franchise, and one that I think everyone at Frontier is excited to see continue to develop over the coming years.”

How that will take shape, coming just one day after the formal release of 2022, is rather obviously not clear. That’s like eating your lunch straight after breakfast, however, the team is keen to see how the community responds and bake in some of that feedback to the 2023 version.

“We’re eager to use fan feedback to support our intended development path for 2023 and beyond,” continued Fletcher.

“The engagement we’ve seen from the community so far has been wonderful to see, and their passion to help us build a franchise that celebrates Formula 1 is something that we’re very lucky to have,”

As for an F1 Manager 2022 post-release roadmap, it’s also too early to say.

“We don’t have any news to share regarding post-release plans for F1 Manager 2022 at present,” explains Fletcher.

“Our team will be monitoring community feedback across the early access and launch periods to ensure we’re giving players the intended experience.”
