The ninth main content-adding update for Forza Motorsport is here – and with the real-world 24 Hours of Le Mans set for later this week, there’s a distinct endurance racing flavour to proceedings.
No, you cannot run day-long races, but new featured multiplayer races can now last up to one hour this month and 30-minute clashes have been permanently added to the rotation in Forza Touring Car and Forza GT playlists. There are new 45-minute single player races within this month’s featured tour, too.
This limited-time set of endurance tour events, split into four weekly segments, will see a range of spotlight cars available for a discount – although, unlike some previous updates, none of these are fresh additions.
Completing the quartet, however, will unlock the 1988 Nissan #24 R88C. This is new to the game, as a sportscar that finished 15th in that year’s Le Mans race.
A second new car is unlocked if you complete the upcoming Open Tour set of events, the Chevron B16 from 1970. A diminutive competition car that won a 500km race at Nürburgring upon its debut one year earlier in 1969.
Sebring International Raceway
The flat-as-a-pancake, yet spine-damagingly bumpy, Florian venue returns – as Sebring International Raceway is free for all players.
Following the likes of Brand Hatch, the current Forza Motorsport does not charge for new venues. Sebring was last seen in 2017’s Forza Motorsport 7, appeasing those who would like more circuits in the contemporary title’s line-up.
Track tweaks
Much like when Daytona was added to Forza Motorsport, the pitlane exit at Laguna Seca was woefully inaccurate in Forza Motorsport – especially following the ‘made from the ground up’ mantra trotted out pre-release.
Thankfully, the venue perhaps best known for its Corkscrew turn now has a pit exit that runs around the inside of the Andretti Hairpin and pits you on track after the corner. As it should be.
The Nürburgring Nordschleife has been updated with, ‘2024 kerbing’, according to developers Turn 10 Studios.
They may have been updated, but 2024-spec they most certainly are not, as evidenced by the flat kerb at Fuchsröhre (Foxhole) which in the real-world has been updated this year with a giant slab of protruding concrete.
The German location was egregiously misaligned with the real world, so any update is welcome, one supposes.
New Porsche LMDh/GTP DLC car
The big ticket addition, alongside Sebring, is the current Porsche prototype racer – the 963, which runs as a GTP in IMSA competitions and LMDh in FIA WEC (featured image).
This will be premium downloadable content for Microsoft’s driving game, outside of any car passes or premium bundles. It will be priced at $4.99/£3.99/€4.99 and includes a Porsche-themed outfit.
However, it is free for all players who download it before 19th June 2024.
Update 9 is available today, 10th June 2024, for PC and Xbox Series X|S. The full changelog is listed below.

Multiplayer Events
The Endurance Series in Featured Multiplayer ratchets up the strategy and focus of the most competitive drivers for up to 1 hour per race.
With a different division each week, these races will require a renewed focus on strategies around pitting, tire compounds, and fuel levels.
We’re also permanently adding 30-minute-long races to the event rotation within both the Forza Touring Car and Forza GT Series. Going forward, the length of these evergreen Spec Series will cycle between ‘Short,’ ‘Medium’ and the new ‘Long’ races. The Nürburgring Nordschleife and Full Circuit layouts have also been included in the event rotation for Long races in Featured Multiplayer.
