Forza Horizon 5's Series 8 update celebrates German Automotive Excellence

The 12th May edition of Forza Monthly revealed the details for the previously teased Series 8 festival for Forza Horizon 5. In two weeks, Series 7 will conclude and the German Automotive Excellence themed Series will begin.

Throughout the festival, manufacturers such as Audi, BMW, Porsche, Volkswagen and Mercedes-AMG will be celebrated with events geared towards utilizing and winning those cars.

FORZA HORIZON 5, SERIES 8, SERIES REWARDS

A total of 208 points are available in the entirety of the eighth series, a drop from the 225 that were in Series 7 and the 230 from Series 6.

Back in Series 6, it was said that more events would be added to give Forza Horizon 5 players more chances to earn points. It doesn’t seem that this is the case anymore as the point level is back at the same amount it was in Series 5.

Regardless, there are two really cool German automobiles available to unlock through completing the majority of the Series 8 festival. At 80 points, players will earn an ‘epic’ Mercedes-AMG E63. Then, at 160 total points, the historically ‘legendary’ AutoUnion Type D can be yours.

For the entirety of the playlist, the Monthly Rivals challenge will be the Arch of Mulege Circuit and will offer four points in each playlist to complete. Also, an ‘epic’ Audi R8 ’12 can be purchased for 700 Forzathon points in the Forzathon shop.

FORZA HORIZON 5, SERIES 8, SUMMER

Summer is the first season up, and in the Wet Season, players can unlock a ‘legendary’ Porsche 959 at 20 points and an ‘epic’ Porsche 911 GT3 RS4 ’12 at 40 points. The #Forzathon Weekly Challenge will involve the 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG.

The Trial for the week includes a stock Mercedes-Benz 190E, and the prize to win the challenge is a ‘rare’ Mercedes-Benz C63. In the featured Eventlab, the ‘epic’ Pop ‘N’ Lock emote is earned by completing.

Three of the seasonal PR Stunts will earn Super Wheelspins, but a ‘rare’ Volkswagen Golf R ’10, a ‘rare’ Mercedes-Benz 190E (in which you can use to complete the trial), and an ‘epic’ Porsche 911 GT3 RS ’19 can all be won as well.

There will also be a Treasure Hunt in Summer, where the clue is that “it’s time to get electric in the clover zone,” whatever that may mean. The Photo Challenge is #ONCOURSE and gets you some clothes, and completing the the Horizon Open challenge will earn a ‘rare’ BME M6 ’13.

FORZA HORIZON 5, SERIES 8, AUTUMN

Autumn is the Storm Season, and for Series 8’s German theme, of course again the prizes are all German engineered. At 20 points, players will earn an ‘epic’ Porsche 911 GT3 ’21. Stick through the season and a ‘legendary’ Mercedes-Benz SSK is unlocked at 40 earned points.

For Autumn’s #Forzathon Weekly Challenge, the car to have is the 2015 Audi S1.

Another Stock Showdown will be The Trial’s trial, utilizing the BMW M2 Coupe. Completing this trial earns a ‘rare’ BMW I8. As for the Eventlab, completing this community-created challenge will earn players an ‘epic’ Audi RS 6 ’09.

Three more Super Wheelspins await in completing three of the season’s PR Stunts, but two epic cars can also be yours in two of the Seasonal Championships, the BMW M3-GTR and the Porsche Cayenne.

Finally, Autumn offers a ‘legendary’ German Engineering Hoodie and the ‘epic’ Classing Running Man emote is unlocked by completing the #TURBOTAKEOFF Photo Challenge.

FORZA HORIZON 5, SERIES 8, WINTER

The Dry Season, Winter, has some pretty cool cars to collect by completing a majority of the festival. At 20 earned points, the ‘rare’ Mercedes-Benz AMG GT is unlocked. Double that amount to get 40 points and a ‘legendary’ #185 Porsche 959 will be yours.

If you opt to do the #Forzathon Weekly Challenge in the Winter, you’ll need a 2008 BMW Z4 M Coupe.

The third Stock Showdown awaits the All Stars that can compete in The Trial. A stock Porsche #65 911 Desert will be the needed car, and the prize to complete it is the ‘epic’ Porsche 911 GT2 RS ’12.

This week’s Eventlab will earn players an ‘epic’ Porsche 911 Turbo ’82. There will also be three more PR Stunts with three more Super Wheelspins to win.

While this playlist offers a ‘common’ AMG Hammer Coupe, the other Season Championship, Modern Classics, will earn players a ‘rare’ Porsche 911 Turbo ’14.

There will be a second Treasure Hunt in the Winter and the clue reads “Couped up? Let’s up the ante by seeing the Heights of Mulege!”

The Photo Challenge, #PITCHPERFECT, will unlock an ‘epic’ Red Suit, and finishing 30th or better in The Eliminator will get you a ‘rare’ Opel Manta 400.

FORZA HORIZON 5, SERIES 8, SPRING

The final season is the Hot Season in Spring, and quite possibly the hottest car in the game can be unlocked here. At 20 points, the ‘rare’ Audi RS 4 Avant ’18 can be yours. If you’re like me, constantly staring at the pack art for the game, longing for the ‘legendary’ Mercedes-AMG ONE, well the great news is that 40 points here will unlock it for you. I’m putting a note on my calendar for this one.

Also, if you look compete in the #Forzathon Weekly Challenge, you’ll need a 2003 Volkswagen Golf R32.

It’s all ‘epic’ reward for the final season in Series 8. Starting with The Trial, a final Stock Showdown with a Audi Quattro will earn an Audi R8 V10 Plus in return. The Eventlab yields a Porsche 718 GTS.

Two of the Seasonal Championships also have ‘epic’ cars, one with a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG as a prize and the other with the Audi Quattro that you’ll need to compete in The Trial. How convenient!

The other Seasonal Championship will give you an ‘epic’ Ice Cream Van horn, and the #GOINGPLACES Photo Challenge also has a car horn reward, although this one is just the ‘common’ Beautiful Morning sound.

SERIES 8 CAR PASS CONTENT

There will also be four new cars coming to the Car Pass. The Audi RS 3 Sedan, the Audi RS 5, the Volkswagen Pickup LX ’82 and BMW M8 ’20 will all be included, one new car per week. More details about these cars will be included in our constantly updated Car Pass article.

As more details become available for Forza Horizon 5’s Series 8, we’ll continue to update this article. What do you think about the German engineering theme? Let us know in the comments!
