It’s good news for all caffeine-addled car fans as a new ‘Cars & Coffee’ venue has been added to Forza Horizon 5, alongside some new cars and an updated Festival Playlist.
Cars and Coffee is a global phenomenon where car enthusiasts gather to grab a beverage of their choice while indulging in their passion for looking at and talking about interesting cars.
This is handy, as FH5’s new ‘Cars & Coffee’ destination is the ideal location to socialise with friends ahead of a race, with new reward cars and an accompanying Cars & Coffee Festival Playlist set to freshen things up.
The Horizon Cars & Coffee Takeover introduces a new unlockable coffee cup suit (because why not) with the new coffee shop home to an all-new drone show and six new themed props. Players can also grab some photos of their new cars in the venue’s purpose-built studio.
We run through all the Cars & Coffee reward and DLC cars below.
Cars & Coffee Festival Playlist
In terms of supercars, players can look forward to driving the Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Coupe and Lamborghini Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae. The Aston is a limited edition car with styling cues from the famous Zagato design house, while the Lamborghini is the final version of the Sant’Agata Bolognese brand’s awesome V12-powered flying machine.
Two oddities from Volkswagen, the Thing and SP2, also form part of the Cars & Coffee Playlist, with the Thing based on Beetle running gear and used as a rudimentary off-roader around the globe.
The SP-2, on the other hand, was built for the restrictive Brazilian market and despite having only 65bhp on tap is classed as a sports car. Hmm.
The Mazda MX-5 RF has a bit more poke thankfully, with its timeless design and playful chassis making it one of the most engaging driver’s cars around.
- Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Coupe – Horizons Cars & Coffee Series Playlist Reward, 80 points
- Lamborghini Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae – Cars & Coffee Playlist Reward, Summer/Wet Season, 20 points
- Volkswagen SP2 – Cars & Coffee Playlist Reward, Autumn/Storm Season, 20 points
- Mazda MX-5 RF – Cars & Coffee Playlist Reward, Winter/Dry Season, 20 points
- Volkswagen Thing – Cars & Coffee Playlist Reward, Spring/Hot Season, 20 points
JDM Jewels Car Pack DLC
Four Japanese cars will be available in the JDM Jewels Car Pack, with the word ‘Jewels’ doing a lot of heavy lifting in this case.
The Autozam AZ-1 is a sporty kei car designed and manufactured by Mazda with a Suzuki-built engine. Confused? You should be, as the car had limited success thanks to its release during the Japanese recession of the early ‘90s, so is a rarity these days.
Better known as the Pajero, the Mitsubishi Montero is a sporty off-roader more suited to the Dakar Rally than the streets of Tokyo, especially with a beefy V6 engine producing upwards of 275bhp under its giant air-scooped bonnet.
Continuing with the 4×4 theme, the Nissan Stagea RS Four V is an all-wheel-drive beast with Nissan Skyline underpinnings, making it a bit of a traffic light sleeper.
The final car in the JDM Jewels Car Pack is the slightly bland Toyota Sera, a car only sold in Japan. Its biggest claim to fame is its butterfly doors, something that legendary car designer Gordon Murray cited as an inspiration for the McLaren F1.
The JDM Jewels Car Pack will be available from the 16th of July for $4.99/€4.99/£3.99.
- Autozam AZ-1 1993
- Mitsubishi Montero Evolution 1997
- Nissan Stagea RS Four V 1997
- Toyota Sera 1991
