SCS Software has released new information on their upcoming Austria Rework for their surprisingly popular trucking sim Euro Truck Simulator 2 (ETS2).

In a developer blog post yesterday, (3rd March 2022) the team revealed additional details and screenshots of Austrian cities Linz and Innsbruck, showing ongoing improvements as part of a large-scale operation to improve much of ETS2’s extensive map.

Linz

Linz is Austria’s third-biggest city, and capital of Upper Austria, situated around 20 miles from the border with the Czech Republic.

As far as improving Linz in-game, two new bridges have been added, both crossing the Danube River. Players will also see a number of nearby villages, an improved industrial district, and a scrapyard appearing in and around the city too.

Innsbruck

Innsbruck is the capital of Austria’s Tyrol region, and is renowned for its winter sports, hosting the Winter Olympics in 1964 and 1976. This is reflected by the addition of Bergisel Ski Jump to the game – a hill with a handy Euro Truck-sized tunnel bored through it.

Additionally, Innsbruck has had its ring road network revamped, with a quarry and railway depot added to replace a sawmill, adjusting the city’s in-game economy a little.

With extra trucks and more improved locations set for future – including the UK – there’s plenty for ETS2 fans to look forward to in future. We at Traxion.GG love a bit of ETS2, using it as part of our hilarious Fuel Crisis and Three Wise Men Challenges.
