SCS Software is continuing with the huge project of reworking its European maps by announcing the Swiss city of Geneva as its next target in Euro Truck Simulator 2.

Arriving as part of a full Switzerland Rework, the updated Geneva (or Genève, as it’s known in French) is a ground-up re-imagining of the municipal capital of the Republic and Canton of Geneva.

The city has a storied past, being controlled by the Roman, Burgundian, Frankish and Holy Roman Empires. Geneva has an equally turbulent religious past, being both the home of protestant theologian John Calvin while also subject to the influences of catholic neighbour France (Geneva’s official language is also French).

Geneva is more famous these days for being home to several departments of the United Nations and the Red Cross, and for its role as a European financial centre.

Located in the country’s southwestern corner, Geneva is bisected by the River Rhône and blocked in by the Jura mountain ranges, with France’s Mont Blanc visible on the horizon. SCS Software has promised that players can drive along Lake Geneva, cross the Rhône and fulfil deliveries in a new industrial zone.

The Geneva rework will also include an agricultural area, a railway terminal, a chocolate factory (Toblerone, anyone?), a shopping centre and plenty of interesting architecture, including the Hôtel de Ville and St. Pierre Cathedral.
