F1 25 driver ratings sees Piastri leap five positions

In what has been billed as the “biggest ever driver ratings update,” the stats within the F1 25 game have been updated.

Part of the rollout for Season 2, which includes the Elimination online mode, fresh limited-time challenges and an unlockable McLaren livery, the driver ratings change sees significant improvement for championship leader Oscar Piastri.

At the game’s launch earlier this year, the Australian competitor was ranked a lowly eighth.

The Codemasters developer of the game attributes a score for each of the 20 drivers across four ratings, plus an overall rating: Experience, Racecraft, Awareness and Pace.

This particular change is based on performances so far this season, in the 12 races from Australia to Britain.

Kimi Antonelli and Isack Hadjar also move dramatically up the table.

Liam Lawson, meanwhile, drops from 15th to 19th, by dint of his fall from grace, being demoted to Racing Bulls from Red Bull.

Jack Doohan remains rooted to the bottom and has not been replaced in-game with Franco Colapinto, as in the real world.
