F1 24 Season 5 starts this week on 8th January, adding the fan-favourite elimination mode plus new Challenge Career and Pro Challenge events with more rewards to win.
Ahead of what will hopefully be an exciting Formula 1 season with Lewis Hamilton moving to Ferrari, among other driver changes, F1 24’s live service updates continue, with Season 5 starting this week.
Starting on 8th January, Season 5, dubbed ‘Shifting Gears’, brings a new Challenge Career and Pro Challenge, as with most F1 24 season updates. But the biggest surprise is the return of the fan-favourite elimination mode.
Elimination mode returns to F1 24
Season 5’s headline addition is the return of elimination mode. Available between 8th January and 5th March, this multiplayer mode sees the driver in last place eliminated every 30 seconds.
Finishing seventh above at least once a week will unlock one of the following rewards:
Elimination mode was previously only available in F1 24 with F2 cars. Now, this mode can be tackled with 2024 F1 cars for the first time in F1 World – albeit for a limited time.
Alongside the elimination mode, Season 5 adds new Challenge Career and Pro Challenge events, with new rewards to unlock.
From 8th January – 3rd February, the Challenge Career celebrates Daniel Ricciardo’s achievements after the Honey Badger retired from Formula 1 in 2024.
The ‘Nitro Buzz’ livery, unlocked by completing Season 5’s final Challenge Career event.
Each chapter relives key moments from his career, including his first Red Bull victory in 2024. Completing each Challenge Career event unlocks the ‘Nitro Buzz’ helmet, race suit, gloves and livery.

Season 5’s Pro Challenge, on the other hand, puts the spotlight on Red Bull’s Liam Lawson, who will replace Sergio Perez for the 2025 season. Beating the New Zealand driver’s lap time will unlock the eye-catching VISA CashApp RB special livery from the 2024 Miami Grand Prix.

In addition, two retro-inspired liveries are also on offer in Season 5. The Grove Classic livery can be unlocked in the first VIP tier of the new Podium Pass, while the Hethel Classic livery can be bought at the in-game store with premium currency known as ‘PitCoin’ points.
