Euro Truck Simulator 2: West Balkans Expansion update announced

SCS Software has announced its latest map expansion location for Euro Truck Simulator 2 – the West Balkans.

The West Balkans region is located to the East of Italy, across the Adriatic Sea and extends Eastwards and Northwards towards the borders of Austria, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Greece.

The West Balkans features countries such as Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Slovenia, all of which have been confirmed to appear in ETS2’s new DLC content.

The region is loosely defined by the countries named above, featuring varied terrain and a largely Mediterranean climate. Players can expect to traverse mountain ranges such as the Carpathians and the Dinaric Alps, as well as popular coastal towns like Dubrovnik and Rovinj.

With most of Europe now covered by ETS2, and with the Heart of Russia DLC seemingly on semi-permanent hiatus, the most notable absence from ETS2’s European map is Greece. Perhaps this means Greece and its surrounding island nations – Crete, Cyprus and Malta – will form a standalone DLC in future?
