Fans of Euro Truck Simulator 2 are set for a treat in the game’s upcoming v1.57 update.
Scania’s R and S Series of trucks are set to receive a comprehensive, in-game overhaul to reflect their real-world counterparts, with updates to engines, transmissions, chassis, interiors and exteriors.

The Swedish manufacturer’s range of ‘Super’ engines, including 420, 460, 500 and 560 horsepower options, will be made available, boasting enhanced efficiency. Likewise, Scania’s Opticruise G25, G33, G38 CM and CMR transmissions will also be included.
The free update will add varied fuel tank options on a chassis-by-chassis basis:
- 4×2 chassis: 1070 L and 1290 L tank options
- 6×2 chassis: 510 L and 600 L tank options
- 6×2 Long chassis: 965 L and 1000 L tank options

Scania’s Smart Dash and Smart Dash Advanced interiors, in dark, light and V8 variants, will be represented, with players who own the ‘Mighty Griffin Tuning Pack’ able to add ‘Super’ engine, grille and cabin badges at no extra cost.
However, Scania Super and 770 paint jobs will be available to all players, alongside separate rear lights, front fenders and removable rear fender tops.

Future updates
Although no release window has been revealed for ETS 2’s v1.57 update, developer SCS Software is hard at work on the game’s PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S release in 2026, alongside American Truck Simulator.
The Czech firm is also set to offer drivable cars and coaches in future updates for ATS and ETS 2, respectively, diversifying their gameplay further. UK and Ireland-based fans will also be pleased to know that the former’s in-game map is to receive a significant revamp, while the latter will release as add-on DLC in future.
