Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator’s v1.51 updates arrive, delivering map improvements

Another update has dropped for SCS Software’s truck sim titles, expanding and enhancing both Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator’s game environments as well as offering several other improvements.

Euro Truck Simulator 2 v1.51

The headline feature of ETS 2’s update is the continuation of SCS’s Germany Rework project, with the cities of Bremen, Kassel, Osnabrück and Magdeburg all receiving complete, ground-up refreshes.

More custom city intros have been added for the Italia and Beyond the Baltic Sea DLC packs too, with truck cabins getting some attention in the form of improved shadows.

Automatic differential lock and blind sport sensor options have also been added, with a few extra quality-of-life tweaks enhancing the game’s user interface.

American Truck Simulator v1.51

ATS also receives the same cockpit shadow, auto diff lock, auto blind spot detection, and UI improvements, with updated Texas DLC vegetation and new custom city intros for the Oregon DLC added.

In addition, more dynamic loading and unloading animations appear in v1.51, helping account for corn, soybean, grain, sugar beet, pelleted animal food, potatoes and cotton seed cargo types.

The Oklahoma DLC gets the full I-44 highway through its centre, finally joining the eastern and western sections together, with a furniture store, a construction site and two new truck stops shoehorned into its environs.

Version 1.51 also sees a new truck, the Mack Black Anthem added to ATS and is available to purchase from your nearest available Mack Trucks in-game dealership.

Looking stealthy with its matt black finish, the Anthem began life as a 70-inch StandUp sleeper chassis, except almost every exterior item has been painted chalkboard black, including the fuel tank, wheels and bonnet ornaments. Inconspicuous.
