Endurance Motorsport Series won’t require an online connection

Endurance Motorsport Series won’t require an online connection when it launches next year, Nacon has confirmed.

Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown has been heavily criticised for its online connection requirement. Although it has a single-player campaign, the open-world racer is inaccessible if the servers are offline due to the internet connection requirement, much to the frustration of players.

Thankfully, this won’t be the case in Endurance Motorsport Series, also published by Nacon and developed by KT Racing. Responding to a fan on X, formerly Twitter, Nacon has confirmed that Endurance Motorsport Series won’t require an online connection.

“Endurance Motorsport Series is NOT an always-online/online-only game,” a post shared on the Endurance Motorsport Series X account reads. “You can freely play with or without an internet connection.”

Endurance Motorsport Series delayed to 2026

Endurance Motorsport Series will offer a unique experience, blending track racing in GT and hypercar with team management. On the track, you’ll be racing classes including LMP2 and GT3 during races, but you can also play as a race engineer and influence the team strategy.

While there is a single-player campaign with AI rivals, an online mode will allow players to form teams of up to three drivers, with up to 24 cars on track.

Speaking to Traxion at Gamescom, Alain Jarniou, Creative Director at KT Racing, explained that the optimisation required for the online features is the reason for Endurance Motorsport’s delay.

“We really want to have the game launched with the online multiplayer features, so we need this time to implement and to test the online mode, because this is really a good way of experiencing the game.

“This is very important, with the team notion in the game at its core. When you are online with friends, the experience will be, I would say, enhanced.

“You can have new adventures with your friends in multiplayer, no race will be the same, and anything can happen during the race. So online is very important.”

Originally slated for autumn 2025, Endurance Motorsport Series is set to release on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in early 2026.
