The all-women Screen to Speed Summer Cup has been won by Emily Howe following a consistent season that also saw her take two round wins.

The sixth and final round once again used iRacing, this time at the Virginia International Raceway in Radical SR8s. It followed open time attack qualifying to provide the entry list.

Howe has a comfortable lead heading into the final round, with Sara Dove and Saoirse Fitzpatrick close in second and third.

During the initial heat race, Las Vegas champion Fitzpatrick won ahead of Dove, but third (just ahead of Lilac Zier) provided enough points for Howe to wrap up the championship ahead of the main and final race.
With 40 minutes ahead of the competitors, the main focus then became the battle for the runner-up spot between Dove and Fitzpatrick with double points on the line.

As the last race got underway, Dove led Howe, but off-camera Fitzpatrick seemed to start from pitlane and was at a 21-second deficit before the first lap was completed. Also embattled was Zier, who found the barriers through the snake section.

Kristina Ryan was providing most of the action in third a quarter of the way through, closing in on Howe and pressurising for second. However, the Summer Cup champion didn’t crack and held on to the position, despite a challenge with under two minutes left of the race.

Fitzpatrick, meanwhile, had made it all the way up to fourth and dived by for third at South Bend as the race entered its final stages. Across the line, Garnet Addams and Ryan made slight contact, with the latter spearing across the grass and having to reverse across the line down in sixth.

Dove was untroubled all race in a dominant performance, taking her second round win of the competition. Second place in the main race and third in the round was more than enough for Howe to take the title. The all-women Screen to Speed competition will return for a Fall Cup late this month.
