In what is likely to be a popular announcement, the EK9 Honda Civic Type R has been confirmed forTokyo Xtreme Racer‘s v1.0 build.

The critically-acclaimed hatchback first broke cover in 1997 and has spawned several iterations since. It only produces around 180 bhp, but thanks to its 1050 Kg mass and free-revving 1.6-litre engine, the EK9 provides an engaging driving experience.

The EK9 is one of several Hondas set to be included in TXR, after developer Genki confirmed a licensing deal with the Japanese manufacturer last week

However, a TXR trailer was accidentally leaked on Chinese social media platform Bilibili over the weekend, revealing several more Hondas coming to the arcade racing reboot, which not only included the EK9 Civic but also the car teased at the end of its reveal trailer: the DC2 Honda Integra Type R.

In terms of looks, the JDM DC2 Integra features the car’s facelifted headlight package (other markets were ‘treated’ to a bugeye-style front-end), and a large rear wing, giving it a sportier look.

Like the Civic, and despite being front-wheel-drive, the Integra handles like a dream and has become much sought after by JDM car enthusiasts.
