Those who drive on PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5, Fanatec’s entry-level direct drive wheel base is now $100 cheaper.
The Gran Turismo DD Pro, which works not only with Gran Turismo 7 but popular titles such as F1 24 and Assetto Corsa Competizione, is a wheel base for both PC and contemporary Sony consoles.
In this guise, it outputs up to 8Nm of peak torque force, thanks in part to a power brick unlocking 3Nm of the total.
The discount applies to the wheel base and power brick only, so you’ll need to purchase a set of pedals and a steering wheel to make a complete kit.
Thankfully, it works with a large range of Fanatec wheels and pedals.
We suggest the CSL Steering Wheel P1 V2 wheel for $119.95 or the CSL Elite Steering Wheel McLaren GT3 V2 $199.95. As for pedals, there are affordable CSL Pedals at $79.95, which can be upgraded for a load cell brake at a later date. A pedal clamp for the wheel base is $29.95.
It’s perhaps worth noting, however, that it comes with the Germany company’s older quick release (the process of removing and swapping a wheel) system, as opposed to the newer QR2 – although, again, it can be upgraded later if needs be.
