A new player in the world of sim racing, PISTA Motorsport aims to spotlight Argentina’s rich racing scene.
Currently in Early Access, the promising racing simulation from former Assetto Corsa mod team REG Simulations launched in August with eight racing cars and four circuits from the South American city. However, the car and track roster is set to expand in a free update later this year.
After teasing the Autódromo Ciudad de Rafaela track owned by an Argentinian football club, REG Studios has announced that an extensively modified Fiat 600, dubbed the F600CBR, will join the roster in the free update.
Built by Argentinian tuner Collino Motors, the F600CBR combines the body of a Fiat 600 hatchback with a Honda CBR 1000 motorcycle engine to create a unique concept car. In addition to the Honda motorcycle engine, the F600CBR can also be fitted with a four-cylinder car engine. Sporting a rear diffuser and flared wheel arches, the aggressive bodywork is styled by artisan workshop Fourlinks.
While the F600CBR is a concept car designed for the race track, Collino Motors intends to put a road version into small series production with different suspension settings and other modifications to meet safety regulations.
In its current guise, PISTA Motorsport is limited to a solo Test Day and a Time Attack mode with online leaderboards. However, new Quick Race and Championship modes allowing for races against AI opponents will be added in the update, along with online multiplayer.
A release date for PISTA Motorsport’s next update has yet to be confirmed, but more details are expected in the coming days.
