Several new 2005 GT cars are coming to AMS 2’s next update
V1.6.9.9 set to include curios like the Gillet Vertigo, TVR Tuscan 440R and Spyker C8
McLaren MP4-20, Lister Storm and Saleen S7-R were also previously teased

Reiza Studios has offered a tantalising glimpse of the car lineup for the next Automobilista 2 update, with a whole host of mid-2000s sports-car curios set to debut in-game.
The Saleen S7-R and Lister Storm GT have already been teased before, but in the Brazilian developer’s latest X post, the Spyker C8 Spyder GT2R, TVR Tuscan T440R, Panoz Esperante GTLM, Maserati 4200GT Trofeo and Gillett Vertigo appeared in screenshots.

This indicates that V1.6.9.9 of AMS 2 will essentially complete the vehicle roster of the 2005 FIA GT Championship, barring the Ferrari 550-GTS Maranello and Ferrari 575 GTC Evo.
The Esperante, despite never racing in Europe in 2005, was campaigned in that year’s American Le Mans Series, so it will find a perfect home in AMS 2’s existing GT2 2005 class.
The Streiff is a bit of an outlier, however, given it ran in the invitational G2 class for non-homologated supercars, while the Maserati ran in its own one-make Trofeo Maserati series in 2005, supporting select rounds of the FIA GT Championship.
The previews indicate that Reiza is committed to extending AMS 2’s 2005 sports car lineup, with high hopes that more obscure vehicles from the N-GT class will one day appear (Morgan Aero 8 GTN FTW!).
Regarding the absent GT1 Ferraris, Reiza may opt to add unlicensed facsimiles, as it did with the 360 Modena-aping Milano GT36 in the Historical, which arrived alongside the Historical Endurance Pack Pt1 DLC late last year (indeed, a GT1 Ferrari-style vehicle can be seen in a previous teaser image alongside a Lister Storm GT-M).

Sim racers can also expect to see AI opponents taking more diverse wet racing lines in V1.6.9.9, alongside more immersive dynamic weather visuals.
Before renewing its McLaren deal, new licensing restrictions would mean the Brazilian developer could not keep branded Renault, Lotus or Brabham F1 cars in the game. As a result, these would revert to generic models for new AMS 2 customers in the future, but remain as they are for current players.
However, it is unknown whether this process will be completed with the release of the game’s next major update. Once unveiled, the MP4-20 is likely to plop into the Formula V10 Gen 3 category, alongside the Renault R25, which was introduced in AMS 2’s previous major update.
Designed by Adrian Newey, the MP-20 was fast if a little fragile, ultimately finishing second in the constructors’ championship to Renault despite claiming 10 victories.
A new tyre graining mechanic was also said to appear in V1.6.9.9 alongside a series of other improvements, although a release date is currently unknown.
