KW Studios has revealed that the BMW M Hybrid V8 will be coming to RaceRoom Racing Experience soon.
The LMDh Hypercar, which is campaigned in both the World Endurance Championship and IMSA Sportscar Championship, will join the previously teased Lamborghini SC63 LMDh in the sim, although a release date has not been set for either.
The BMW debuted in IMSA’s GTP class in 2023, with a V8 engine based on the Bavarian firm’s outgoing DTM project, and has won two races since: the 2023 6 Hours of Watkins Glen and the 2024 IMSA Battle of the Bricks at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. It has yet to win at world championship level, however.

RaceRoom is set to reveal more information about the BMW in its latest Gridtalk episode, scheduled for the 19th of June on the RaceRoom YouTube channel, with more details also expected to be announced about the sim’s latest Alfa Romeo 156 and Opel Vectra Super Touring offerings.
Already available to drive in iRacing, Le Mans Ultimate and Forza Motorsport, it will be interesting to see how the BMW M Hybrid V8’s complicated hybrid systems are implemented in RaceRoom, especially in regard to iRacing’s struggles in this department.
