Two new cars are heading to Forza Horizon 5 immediately thanks to a promotion with the upcoming Barbie movie heading to theaters next month.
Barbie’s dream car, which is a 1956 Chevrolet Corvette in the signature Barbie pink, as well as Ken’s new 2022 GMC Hummer EV Pickup complete with some rad art on the sides, are both in the game as of now.
Forza Horizon 5 players can get the new cars for free by accepting them through the Message Center. These two cars join the 13 cars that were already announced for this season in the Upgrade Heroes festival.
“Bringing Barbie’s signature flair to our gaming platform, we’re honoring all that there is to love about this iconic role model: her persevering optimism, wide-ranging career journey and never-ending capacity for self-discovery,” said Kirsten Ward, Vice President of Xbox Integrated Marketing in the release.
A partnership between Microsoft and the Barbie IP, which is a Mattel brand, has Barbie popping up all over the Xbox universe. Not only can you find these Barbie-mobiles in Forza Horizon 5, but there’s a Barbie-themed Xbox Series S that’s being given away alongside some neat Xbox Wireless Controller faceplates that are also themed.
It’s not the first time we’ve seen the Barbie franchise in racing games, and it surely won’t be the last. The most recent time before this was in Hot Wheels Unleashed, when the Dream Camper was added in December of 2021. The Dream Camper is cool in die cast form, sure, but a real version of the iconic Dream Car is even more so.
