Assetto Corsa EVO set for 30th September unveil

There were the financial reports about ‘Assetto Corsa 2’, then confirmation of the Assetto Corsa EVO name, the in-game teaser within Assetto Corsa Competizione and, just this week, confirmation of a January 2025 early access release date.

We’ve seen still images of licenced car models and tracks, known that it will support virtual reality and even asked the Kunos Simulazioni about its five-year development process.

Now, or rather very soon, the world will see EVO in action for the first time, with what is billed as an ‘announcement trailer’ slated for Monday 30th September 2024 at 1 pm BST / 2 pm CEST / 5 am PST / 8 am EST.

The thumbnail features a spectacular rare rear-wheel drive super saloon – the Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm.

Perhaps also of note, Porsche is called out in the YouTube description as a partner with a ‘special thank you’ alongside the aforementioned Alfa Romeo, sim racing equipment manufacturer RSeat, crash helmet experts BELL, BBR and racewear creators OMP.

“Car passion is a state of mind and it’s driven by heart,” also reads the description.

With ACC the official SRO-racing simulation spin-off, EVO is returning to the series’ roots – and based upon that description, we’d suggest a move towards general automotive culture as opposed to purely motorsport.

The part images of cars released so far appear to indicate some form of showroom, for example. We’ll know more in a matter of days.
