Art of Rally developer teases ‘exploration’ driving game

Diminutive video game developer Funselektor is celebrating a decade of making car-related projects.

It has created the likes of Absolute Drift, Art of Rally and, earlier this year in partnership with Strelka Games, management title Golden Lap.

The studio has released a joyous celebration video covering the past 10 years, which poses the question: “And now?”

The words are set atop a luscious, autumnal, backdrop of deep grass and trees swaying in a gentle breeze.

The tranquillity is disturbed, only slightly, by an off-road vehicle slowing driving across the scene, with a visual style that reminds us of Dune Casu’s aforementioned Art of Rally.

Previous still image teasers by the developer include a blocky version of a similar vehicle at the start of the year, plus recent images of what look to be camping, or overlanding, scenes.

The move follows similar hints in the run-up to the Golden Lap unveiling.

Little else is known about the next project, but this moving footage suggests we could hear about it sooner rather than later.
