First announced in June last year, American Truck Simulator’s Iowa DLC has finally received an official release date.

Players of SCS Software’s trucking game will be able to explore the Hawkeye State from the 10th of July, with the Czech studio promising ‘stunning landscapes, iconic landmarks, vibrant cities, industries and hidden gems’.

Nestled between the Mississippi and Missouri rivers, Iowa is famed for its rich, natural soil, leading to its status as the biggest producer of corn and soybeans in the USA. Originally home to several Native American tribes, the whole area was fought over by French and Spanish forces throughout the 17th and 18th centuries, before officially becoming part of the US in 1803.

The announcements are coming thick and fast for ATS at the moment, with the game’s v1.55 Open Beta currently allowing players to experience an enhanced Driving Academy mode. ATS is also set for drivable cars and pickup trucks in a future update, with a grand Route 66 Rework Project well underway in the background.
