The open beta for v1.47 of SCS Software’s two truck sim titles is available to try now, giving players a first look at several new features and content updates set to arrive on the sim soon.
Over the last few months, the Czech developer has teased a lot of upcoming content in both American Truck Simulator (ATS) and Euro Truck Simulator 2 (ETS2), with the titles set to share some common improvements.
Real-world technology continues to impact on the game, with adaptive cruise control and emergency braking systems making their way to both games. This should ensure an extra layer of safety and security when out on the open roads, helping protect players’ precious cargo.
The v1.47 update will also see greatly improved map details, including extensive rebuilds of the cities of Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Nürnberg and Erfurt, as part of ETS2’s Germany Rework.
Both ATS and ETS2 will see upgrades to their career history user interface with ATS also enjoying updates to its ambient in-game sounds. Random road bumps will also serve to liven up the silky-smooth driving experience for both titles, providing more realistic road conditions.
Both titles will also see additional Custom City Intros and ownable Gas Cisterns added, fleshing out the experience of owning and operating a virtual haulage business., as ETS2 also gains ownable livestock trailers.
The v1.47 beta for both ETS2 and ATS is available to try now. To sample it, right-click on the game icon in your Steam Library, select ‘Properties’, then ‘Betas’ and pick the ‘Public Beta 1.47’ option.
