It’s only a series of work-in-progress development images, but signs of life for the DLC are starting to emerge.

A ninth ‘Hypercar’ category vehicle has been previewed for Le Mans Ultimate – the Alpine A424.

Completing in a debut season in both the FIA World Endurance Championship and 24 Hours Le Mans, the French entry runs to the LMDh regulations. That means a turbocharged V6 engine – thought to be related to the Mecachrome unit used in Formula 2 – combined with a standardised hybrid unit.

The likes of Mick Schumacher, Nicolas Lapierre and Ferdinand Habsburg, both entries sadly retired thanks to mechanical maladies during the classic endurance race earlier this month.

Early development images of the sleek sportscar have been released by the imperilled Motorsport Games, showing signs of progress for anticipated additional content.

This follows similar images of the Lamborghini SC63 and Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari circuit.

Four top-class cars are expected to be released as paid-for downloadable content this year, the Alpine and Lamborghini part of the quartet. No release date or order has been provided, although Imola is expected in July.

Alpine A424 Le Mans Ultimate

The entire LMGT3 field is currently absent. Le Mans Ultimate launched in early access with the 2023 season, which featured the now-mothballed GTE category. This new class will also be premium DLC apart from two cars. The unspecified duo will be free to avoid splitting the online racing user base.

The BMW M Hybrid V8 was delivered as a free update recently alongside 2024-season liveries for the existing vehicles. More details are expected soon, including pricing. The Alpine’s appearance could be the car’s first official appearance in a game or simulation.
