Following the Ford Mustang GT3s, the second round of the ADAC SimRacing Expo’s Digital GT500 competition switched to the diminutive Toyota GR86s and the twisting Motorsport Arena Oschersleben.

David Bozga lined up in pole position for the first of two races, just 0.024s ahead of Luis Beilicke.

As the 10-lap event began, Ross Macfarlane was turned around at the opening corner, meanwhile at the sharp end of the field, Simone Passoni made a lightning getaway to briefly lead before running off the circuit at the Hotel turn.

Out of the melee emerged Beilicke in the lead ahead of Bozga. Things didn’t go to plan for Round 1, Race 2 winner Thomas Cope, flying off the circuit backwards at Sachsen-Anhalt Kurve on the first lap.

Andrea Bristot had a look at Bozga for second on the third lap, but the failed attempt at a move allowed Dino Lombardi to close in on a podium spot.

As the race progressed, with just two laps remaining, the top four were within one second. Yet, despite the intense pressure, Beilicke held on to win.

  4. Dino Lombardi +0.960

The top 20 from the first race of the evening were swapped to create the grid for the follow-up encounter.

That meant Andrea Dalla heading the field ahead of Octavio Rondoletto.

After a frenetic opening, Rondoletto exited the final corner better than Dalla to take the lead down the start/finish straight, with Leon Harhoff and Macfarlane following through into second and third respectively.

Eric Grove would make his move on Dalla around the outside before the Schikane. His next target was Macfarlane, but the Scot driver was preoccupied with Harhoff, passing the German into the Shell-S with eight minutes completed.

Grove would dive on Harhoff at the final corner two minutes later, completing the move at Hotel for a podium spot.

With two laps remaining, Macfarlane had caught leader Rondoletto, who started his steadfast defence. Despite the best efforts of a chasing pack, the Argentinian would hold on to win.
