Remy Gilbert and Matt Caruana overhauled Henry Moore’s championship lead during Round 3 of the 2025 British F4 Esports Championship, as the young Englishman suffered an unfortunate DNF in the reversed grid race.
HYMO Setups by EMM’s Matt Caruana now held the advantage in the standings, with Gilbert just behind, but Moore was still in the hunt as the series headed to Oulton Park International for Round 4, as the leading contenders faced another challenge: the return of the 2024 champion Graham Carroll.
Race 1
As if claiming the championship lead wasn’t enough, Caruana also secured pole position for Race 1, with Gilbert and Moore second and third, respectively. However, Ferrari Esports’ Carroll proved he still had the pace to run at the front, as the Scotsman secured fourth on the grid.
The front four made equally quick getaways to run line astern on lap one. Sadly, the race mostly turned into a processional affair afterwards, with Oulton Park’s International layout proving to limit overtaking opportunities for iRacing’s high-downforce FIA F4 cars.
However, in the second half of the race, Caruana withstood a tide of pressure from the Team Benik cars of Gilbert and Moore behind, fending off wave after wave of hopeful looks. In reality, though, without a mistake from Caruana, there was little his championship rivals could do, with the top three finishing as they started, with Carroll threatening the podium sitters close behind.

Race 2
The reversed grid draw saw Alpine Sim Racing’s Connor Jupp on pole position alongside Williams Esports’ Pablo Espes in second. Caruana would start well down in 10th.
Just like in Race 1, the championship contenders found it difficult to overtake initially, but the turning point came on lap four when Carroll stuck his nose into the right rear of Drive Lounge Racing’s Leo Brown at Knickerbrook, forcing his way into sixth.
Mid-race, and with the battle at the front between Jupp, Agustin Torlaschi, William Chadwick and Dani Moreno hotting up, Caruana tagged the back of Gilbert’s car heading into Shell Oils Corner, sending him out of control.
Impressively, Gilbert saved the car, but further side-by-side contact with Caruana on corner exit was enough to send the former into a spin, dropping him out of the points-paying positions.

Up front and with only three laps remaining, Chadwick made a move on Jupp for the lead. However, in what appeared to be an instance of netcode contact, Chadwick appeared to spin Jupp out of contention, with Moreno now bearing down on the leader.
Behind, Carroll aggressively dived down the inside of Torlaschi at Lodge to claim second position before a final lap charge saw him again make contact with the back of Chadwick’s car, taking the lead as a result.
Chadwick was out, and all the on-track shenanigans allowed Moore and Caruana up into third and fourth, respectively, as Torlaschi finished a frustrated second.
Retrospectively, Carroll and Caruana were hit with penalties, giving Torlaschi a deserved Race 2 victory. Caruana was demoted to seventh, but still holds a lead in the championship standings as the British F4 Esports Championship heads to Silverstone’s Grand Prix circuit next week.

2025 UK FF1600 Esports Cup, Round 4
Hayden Bramley emerged as the de facto championship leader after Sentterton, but with the UK FF1600 Esports Cup drivers allowed two drop scores, the battle for the title will likely go all the way to the final round at Brands Hatch GP.
Race 1
Despite an inconsistent start to the season in terms of points scoring, Crofton Woodhatch has marked himself out as the best qualifier in the championship, having secured two pole positions from three rounds thus far.
He made it three out of four at Oulton too, surpassing former championship leader Matt Kendall’s effort by nearly a tenth of a second. Bramley wasn’t far behind, however, and would start Race 1 in third.
Woodhatch held the lead off the start line, and the top three qualifiers remained line astern for the first lap, with Oulton proving to be a tricky track on which to launch an overtake attempt.

In what could be a pivotal moment for the championship battle, Bramley and Kendall clashed on the run out of Cascades, sending the latter into the lakeside barriers and out of podium contention.
Bramley continued seemingly unaffected and set about catching Woodhatch ahead as a gaggle of five cars duked it out for the final step on the podium.
A mistake at Britten’s from Bramley allowed Woodhatch a comfortable gap up front, as the former took another victory to get his championship challenge back on track. Brandon Lowden eventually won the battle for third position ahead of Jayden Sherwood.
Race 2
The reversed grid draw for Race 2 saw Matthew Jordan on pole position, sharing the front row with Yuanxi Lin, with Woodhatch having work to do in eighth.
Lin was bumped off track exiting Cascades, allowing series frontrunner Teemu Myllykangas a run on Jordan for the lead, while Bramley made a punchy start to climb up to third position by Britten’s.
However, at the start of lap two, a clash between Myllykangas and Jordan had a knock-on effect for Bramley, whose car was eliminated on the spot after being collected by the unfortunate Sam Sanders.
The leading pack of six switched positions aggressively, with Woodhatch maintaining a watching brief, safe in the knowledge that most of his championship rivals were either out or well down the order.

Things would improve for Woodhatch soon after, as contact between McClements and Sherwood gave him another two positions and a genuine shot at a double victory, with the chances increasing as Myllykangas was also hit with a drivethrough penalty.
Carnage seemingly over, Woodhatch took the lead with four laps to go and never relinquished it, as Sherwood came home second and Jeffrey Decker followed home in third. Thanks to a rare double victory and his continued qualifying pace, Woodhatch’s championship charge is officially back on track.
Round 5 of the British F4 Esports Championship and UK FF1600 Esports Cup will take place on the 29th October at Silverstone’s Grand Prix circuit, with all the racing broadcast live on iRacing’s YouTube, Twitch and Facebook channels, produced by RaceSpot TV.
