- New content and challenges are on the way to Forza Motorsport
- Except, everything has been seen before, just for a limited period
- “Continued support” actually means “life support”
When news filtered through about redundancies at developer Turn 10 Studios, the future of Forza Motorsport was thrown into doubt.
After all, it sounded as if large swathes of its creation team were jobless. Microsoft and Xbox refused to provide further context, and then, in August, delivered a vague statement that promised “continued support”.
But support and active development are two very different things. The latter would mean fresh single player events, online playlists, new cars and additional tracks.

The last new roster add-ons were the current IndyCar open-wheeler, in Chevrolet and Honda engine guise, minus the current hybrid system. These arrived in June.
Since then, it’s just been returning single-player tours, all recycled, prize cars and all. This has now been confirmed to be the trend from now through to December 2025, too.
In October, June 2024’s limited-time Endurance Tour (a series of single-player events, spread out over four weeks) returns. This is followed in November by the BMW Tour, first seen earlier this year, and then finally, in December, the Contemporary Tour from the same time two years ago.
There is a matching set of challenges and prize cars to boot; the vehicles have all previously been ‘FOMO’ content for the now floundering game.

The only new item is Rivals events paired with the Logitech McLaren G Challenge esports competition, with over $100,000 in cash and prizes up for grabs.
Microsoft is unwilling to comment on the future of the Forza Motorsport franchise – but one thing is certain: a new Forza Horizon is on the way and expected next year. The spin-off series seems to have become the leader.
