After a period in open beta, America Truck Simulator’s v1.56 update has been released, adding a host of new UI features as the game heads towards its console debut.
Check out the full rundown on v1.56 below.
Height blend
Height blend is a new labour-saving technique that developer SCS Software claims improves the distinction between terrain types, for example: it makes the blend between grass and rocks much tidier looking, with only a minor hit to memory usage.
You can see some of the results below.

Dynamic cargo improvements
More cargo types are covered by ATS’s dynamic loading and unloading feature, with logger and chipvan vehicles coming in for special attention.
The loading and unloading of large tubes, logs, utility poles and metal scrap will now be performed by heavy machinery at select depots on the map, adding a little more realism to the game.

Camera zoom and DLC browser
Zooming into the interior details of your cab can now be controlled by holding or toggling a button or key.
A new UI has been set up to make it much easier for players to view their owned DLC within ATS. The DLC Browser also sorts extra content into searchable categories, such as Cargo, trailers, accessories and paint jobs.
Career mode and management improvements
Career mode’s UI has also undergone some renovation and now features a much tidier look. The career creation process is now much more focused and comes with a truck preference section, allowing players to thoroughly explore each truck option before hitting the road for the first time.
The Company tab has also had its UI revamped, with the Driver, Trailer, Truck and Garage Manager sections all redesigned for ease of use.
