- Two new Vision Gran Turismo cars set for Gran Turismo 7 this month
- Both look to a possible C8 Corvette replacement
- 2,000hp, V8 hybrids, one for the road, one for the track
The future of the Corvette has been previewed by a new concept car. Again.
Following a design study created in the UK earlier this year, it seems a derivation of that model will be used as the next Vision Gran Turismo for Gran Turismo 7 – although this time, penned in the US.
The CX is a… and you could almost guess this considering its shape and being a VGT member… a one million horsepower hybrid with multiple electric motors.
Well, a slight exaggeration there – it’s a lowly 2,000bhp thanks to a twin-turbocharged, E-fuel-using, V8 and a surfeit of electrification.
It’s lower and sleeker than the current generation road-going C8 ‘Vette, in what is described as by Polyphony Digital as “jet-aircraft-like.”

Then, there is a more aggressive race version called the CX.R, with added appendages.
Both are confirmed for Gran Turismo 7 inclusion, with Chevy confirming this will be “later this month” [August 2025].
“The CX and CX.R Vision Gran Turismo demonstrate our design teams stepping away from the constraints of production vehicles and unleashing their creativity,” said Phil Zak, executive design director for Chevrolet.

“Through this exercise, we’ve added to Corvette and defined the design direction for Corvette moving forward.”
The extreme Corvettes were unveiled at ‘The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering’ event, part of Monterey Car Week – the Pebble Beach Concours is scheduled for this coming Sunday, too, where historically a classic car is gifted a Gran Turismo award.
There’s still no word on when the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo will be added to the game.
