F1 24 update fixes graphics issues and adds new Scenarios 

The second part of F1 24’s Season 4 playlist is set to release tomorrow (10th December 2024), adding two new Race Scenarios and a fresh Challenge Career event. 

One day after the conclusion of the 2024 Formula 1 championship, EA SPORTS has revealed several graphics updates are on the way in v1.16, including updated logos for the Williams, Haas and McLaren cars, with the Haas now featuring its Toyota Gazoo Racing branding.

Ray-traced interior reflections will be given a bit of a spruce-up for PlayStation 5 Pro owners too, with support for XeSS 2 (Intel’s proprietary upscaling technology) for PC players. As a result, Anti-Aliasing, DLSS, FSR, and Dynamic Resolution options will likely have been reset in-game.

Two new Race Scenarios based on the 2014 Bahrain and 2022 Belgian Grand Prix will be available from the 10th of December. Bahrain celebrates Lewis Hamilton’s intense battle for victory with team-mate Nico Rosberg in 2014, while Max Verstappen’s epic win from 14th on the grid at Spa-Francorchamps is the subject of the 2022 event.

Players who participate in the latest batch of Lewis Hamilton-themed Challenge Career events can win a Double XP Token. From the 11th of December,  Belgium, Italy and Azerbaijan events will be made available.

F1 24’s v1.16 update will be available on the 10th of December across PlayStation, Xbox and PC versions of the game.

Graphics/Visuals

• Updated sponsors on the Williams, Haas, and McLaren cars.

The Williams car now features Globant and Mercado Libre logos, the Haas car has been updated to add Toyota Gazoo Racing and Orion 180 branding, and the Darktrace logos on the McLaren have been recoloured.

• Fixed an issue which in some instances caused graphical issues for people with certain Anti-Aliasing options and Dynamic Resolution Enabled (PC Only)

Following the v1.16 update, options relating to Anti-Aliasing, DLSS, FSR, and/or Dynamic Resolution may have been reset. Be sure to check the in-game Graphics settings to ensure that these options are to your liking.

• Added support for XeSS 2, which will be enabled on supporting hardware with an upcoming driver update from Intel (PC Only)

When using compatible hardware, F1® 24 will support higher frame rates and smoother gameplay using XeSS Frame Generation (XeSS-FG) through AI-based frame interpolation. When paired with Xe Low Latency (XeLL), this reduces input delay for a more immersive experience.

• The visual quality of Ray Traced reflections on the interior of the cockpit has been improved (PS5® Pro Only)
• Fixed an issue which applied too much engine heat haze when spectating an AI during a replay
• Added a couple of additional updates to the Las Vegas environment

Miscellaneous

Added the Player Hub option to the Main Menu

• The Player Hub is where players can check Podium Pass, Store, Friends List, Mail, and Super License. This has been added to the Main Menu screen and will show a yellow notification marker when there’s something new to view. The Player Hub can still be accessed when in other areas of the game, by pressing the corresponding button shown in the top right corner of the screen. 

AI Difficulty between 101-110 has been increased to give experienced players a harder challenge

• Following feedback from the community, an adjustment has been made to add an extra challenge for those playing at the highest difficulty levels. This change results in around a one tenth decrease in lap time for those competing against 110 AI compared to pre-patch performance. This difference varies slightly depending on the circuit you are racing on.
