Along with the Ibiza expansion, Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown Season 2 will add five new ‘Selen Edition’ cars next week.
After a tumultuous launch period, Season 2 of Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown launches next week. Headlining the next season is a free map expansion taking players back to Test Drive Unlimited 2’s exotic Ibiza Town. But this isn’t the only new content players can look forward to.
Season 2 also introduces five new ‘Selene Edition’ cars, which are “modified vehicles based on existing models, as if they had been customised by a car tuning specialist.”
Screenshots shared on Solar Crown’s social media confirm there will be modified versions of the Abarth 500, Alpine A110 and Chevrolet Corvette C1, with the remaining two yet to be revealed. Selene Edition cars will boast visual modifications such as liveries, Selene Edition decals and custom interiors.
In a developer diary video posted in August, Game Director Guillaume Guinet described the Selene Editions as “boosted,” suggesting they will also have performance enhancements compared to the standard models. Although not confirmed, the Selene Edition cars will likely be sold exclusively at Ibiza Town’s new dealership.
The five Selene Edition cars will be joined by two unannounced exclusive cars as part of a new Solar Pass. Players can unlock the Audi e-tron GT and Pininfarina Battista EVs in the current Solar Pass, which ends next week. Clan progression will also increase to level 70 in Season 2, adding 20 extra levels exclusive to the new map.
Originally slated for a Christmas Eve launch, Season 2 starts next week on Wednesday 11th December.
